Gang Flow – Steve Davis, the legendary six-time snooker world champion, is set to take center stage at this year’s Angel Field Festival in Liverpool. Known for his dominance in the 1980s and 1990s snooker scene, Davis has since ventured into the world of music, and his band, The Utopia Strong, will be headlining the festival. The highly anticipated event will take place at Liverpool Hope University’s Capstone Theatre on Friday, during the festival’s run from 20-27 March.
The Utopia Strong, a band Davis co-founded in Glastonbury, has carved out a niche in the electronic music scene. Since their debut album release in 2019, the group has been gaining recognition for its distinctive sound. Their second album,International Treasure, dropped in 2022 and was praised by the late DJ Andrew Weatherall. Who described their style as “gnostic sonics in a nutshell.” Davis, who has also made a name for himself as a radio broadcaster, DJ, and author, continues to showcase his passion for music alongside his bandmates. Their performance at Angel Field Festival is expected to be a highlight of the week-long celebration.

The Angel Field Festival promises an eclectic mix of music and arts performances, featuring both emerging and seasoned artists. Among the festival’s diverse lineup, Liverpool’s own The Savoy Jazzmen. A band with a remarkable 65-year history, will perform on 22 March. Attendees will also enjoy classical showcases by the Hope Metropolitan Orchestra and Choir, including a tribute to Mozart’s timeless works. Additionally, a concert dedicated to composers Erik Satie, John Cage, and the late David Revill will offer a rich auditory experience for music enthusiasts.
